The Story of Evonn Artisan

It all started in 2018, when a trip to visit a daughter in Colombia sparked an unexpected love for the country and its people. For Diane, it was the beginning of a new chapter.

In 2023, Diane left her corporate career to pursue a passion she's had since her childhood on a Michigan farm: growing perennials. She returned to the garden industry, working at a former colleague's garden center and growing her own flowers.

A Life-Changing Journey

In November 2023, Diane traveled to Raquirá, Colombia, a town famous for its beautiful pottery. She was captivated by the talent of the local artisans but was saddened to learn that their incredible work wasn't being exported to the United States. Many talented artists had no way to share their creations with the rest of the world.

During her visit, Diane met Andres Rodriguez-Casas, a young artisan. She asked him why his family didn't pursue exporting their artwork.

"Oh Senora, I would have no idea how to do such a thing, but it would be my dream," he replied.

Without hesitation, Diane told him, "I’ll be back in January and I’ll teach you."
